THE WINTER EDIT
The gentle hush of winter is surely settling in as we enter into February—short days, slower mornings, and the glow of lamplight as early evening arrives—has us fully embracing the season of retreat.
This month we’re drawn to depth and warmth: rich textures, quiet neutrals, and pieces that feel grounding and intentional. Crackling fires, wool layers, and the soft hum of a home that invites you to linger. Afternoons spent indoors while snow falls outside, time stretching in the best way. Evenings wrapped in cashmere, candlelight flickering, comfort food simmering on the stove.
Tactile materials take center stage—stone, aged wood, brushed metals, and soft textiles that feel collected over time. A season rooted in stillness, reflection, and understated beauty.
Inspiration slows, deepens, and becomes more intentional.
Here is our roundup of our favorite winter pieces—timeless, cozy, and quietly elevated. Think Scandinavian calm meets Midwest winter nights.
SEASONAL SUPPER | Hendrix & Siena
Josh and I recently discovered the most charming little bistro tucked into downtown Hopkins, MN—Hendrix & Siena—and we’ve already been back a few times. During our last visit, we were seated near the back kitchen, where we could watch one of the chefs cutting freshly made pasta by hand. Seeing the pasta shaped one piece at a time added such a special layer to the experience—it’s impossible not to feel the care and intention behind every dish. And if you go, the Lasagna Duefoglie is an absolute must: wild mushrooms, fontina, and fennel pollen come together in the most comforting, unforgettable way.
SEASONAL STAY | Nature Link Resort
Nature Link Resort has a cool, modern design and is tucked into the tall pines of Minnesota—this stay was everything we needed. Josh and I escaped the city with the pups and settled into what felt like a romantic little oasis. Mornings and evenings were spent curled up in front of the fireplace, puzzling with the most peaceful view through the large windows. We took advantage of one of the onsite canoes for a paddle around the lake just before it froze over for the season. The plan was to explore the small island in the middle of the lake… until Frankie had other ideas and jumped straight out of the canoe into the VERY cold water. Shock of her life. We quickly paddled back and warmed her up with a long, cozy shower back at the villa. The next morning, we braved an icy lake plunge (briefly!) before thawing out in the sauna—invigorating to say the least. Quiet, serene, and still close to small towns filled with charming boutiques and cozy restaurants, this spot is a favorite for a reason.
SEASONAL SHOP | Midtown Antiques
If you know us, you know we love incorporating vintage whenever possible. Locally, I have a handful of favorite spots, with Midtown Antiques in the charming town of Stillwater, MN at the top of the list. The shop is home to a collection of vendors, each offering thoughtfully curated vintage finds with their own distinct style and point of view. On a recent visit, I uncovered original oil-on-canvas paintings, a handful of vintage jugs and vases, a polished nickel towel rack, and a couple of incredible furniture pieces. You truly can’t go wrong adding something special to your home—something with history, character, and a story—while also supporting sustainable design.
